Efficiency and Flexibility Drive Conexpo’s Purchase of second Telestack Telescopic Radial Conveyor

Following on from the success of their first telescopic conveyor, Lisburn based company Conexpo (NI) Ltd have purchased a second unit for their new purpose built materials handling facility at the Port of Belfast. Operating two telescopic conveyors in tandem enables Conexpo to maximise efficiency and flexibility when exporting high PSV aggregates to the UK mainland or importing granular products. Material is conveyed over a distance of 84m, from where it is either loaded onto coaster size vessels or unloaded and stockpiled at the quayside OR in using the same equipment to load the coaster vessels.

With two Telestack units I can further reduce the distance the wheel loader has to travel from the stockpile to the feeder during loading. I can then utilise the same units to convey and stockpile our imported material, whilst maximising the limited amount of space available at the quayside. When importing coal, we stockpile automatically in windrows which eliminates degradation (caused from driving onto the stockpile) ensuring our customers are satisfied with a higher quality end product.
